Peter Kuznick joined me in a very urgent discussion about the desperate situation humanity is in. It is a situation that demands a desperate solution.
Our friend, 91 year old, Jack Gilroy initiated an appeal to the American Pope Leo to call for an emergency meeting to condemn nuclear weapons and demand Peace in the world.
Peter brought this appeal, signed on by dozens of individuals and organizations around the world, to Japan last month, and he will bring it to a major conference in Italy this month where he will make a major presentation, and meet with the head of the college of Cardinals to bring this appeal to Pope Leo.
I believe he is the only person on this planet who can appeal to and challenge the moral consciousness of Catholics, Protestants, Jews, and non-believers alike, and to all of the leaders of the USA, Russia, the EU, China, and all the leaders of the nuclear armed countries.
One of my main disappointments has been the silence of the churches on the issues of nuclear abolition, war, clinate change, AI, and the need for Peace in the world before it is too late.
Peter and I made the case about how real, existential, and imminent nuclear war is.
