I was being interviewed yesterday on the Yalta seaside promenade for a Russian national television show. You will notice that the promenade at this time of year is packed with thousands of tourists, but there is scarcely anyone to be seen.

After the interview, Tanya and I stumbled upon an amazing street musician playing “I did it my way,” a song made famous by Frank Sinatra and written for Frank by Paul Anka. Fitting that this song also is a celebration of my own independence, self-determination, and personal authenticity. The song serves as a retrospective declaration of a person standing tall, taking responsibility for their life choices, and accepting the outcomes—flaws and all—because they stayed true to themselves.
Alexander, the street musician, is now a retired, very well-known musician, who has played with big bands, Jazz bands, the circus, orchestras, and clubs. With hardly anyone on the promenade, Alexander was playing for the love of music and a few Rubles. The contrast between this idyllic scene and the following comments was sharp and contrasting.
Let me begin by saying this: it is not an EU or NATO war against Russia, but that of the USA and Britain, and it has been so for at least 80 years. Hatred and revenge runs deep in Britain and has been so since at least their loss in the Crimean War of 1853-56!
A state of “emergency” has been declared for all of Crimea because of daily drone attacks, the shortage of petrol and blackouts. Areas of Crimea have been attacked by drones and missiles, and civilians have been killed.
It is not wise of me to comment on anything else regarding the war, drone attacks, the situation in Crimea, but Russia finally has “unleashed Hell” on Kiev for the past four days and nights, including Odessa and other key areas with hundreds of hypersonic missiles and drones. Kiev officials are calling these attacks devastating and the worst yet, Armageddon.
Here is what you will not hear in America. Russians, and that includes Crimeans, all hate war and are against the killing of their families and friends on both sides. From 1954, when Nikita Krushchev transferred Crimea to Ukraine to 2014 when Crimea voted to return to Russia, it was all the Soviet Union when marriage between the Republics was common. This war has not only divided families and friends, but has resulted in the killing and murder of fathers, mothers, husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, and friends. This war is being deeply felt all over Russia who lost 27 million in WWII, the Great Patriotic War.
This war is about the US-Britain foreign policy goal to weaken and destroy Russia, to decapitate its leadership, and to steal its resources. They have stated this publicly for years now.
On the battlefield, Russia has finally taken Konstantinovka, the last, large, defensive stronghold in the Donetsk region. This is huge for Russia and a real blow to Ukraine and its patrons in the West in every sense. Many of your favorite bloggers have been saying that Ukraine has lost and the war is all but over. Hopefully!
And this leads me to the NATO Summit that just took place in Ankara, Turkey. It all pretty much centered on Trump’s crude and disgusting behavior and comments, and his complete lack of “presidential demeanor,” calling the Iranians scum and stupid people, and declaring the MOU and the ceasefire over! Has there ever been a more disgusting, crude, narcisistic, maniacal, and mass murderer in American History? NEVER.
What is clear from this Summit is that NATO and the EU, while boasting about supporing Ukraine to the last Ukrainian, are all bankrupt and committing collective suicide. Nearly every EU country is bankrupt and behaving like Fascists and yes, NeoNazis, including Germany!
With no real support for Zelinsky’s promise to punish Crimea in the next 40 days, the people in Crimea are waiting and watching. What else can we do?
Yes, this is my first post in a few weeks. I’ve turned off all the noise and am trying to stay in the moment, remain calm, and enjoy life here in this absolutely beautiful, little slice of Paradise called Yalta.
