Today is July 28, 2026, and the past month has been a very difficult time for us in Crimea with a serious shortage of petrol, and drone attacks from Ukraine with drones supplied by England, France, and Germany and guided by the USA and Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite system.
But for the first time, Yalta was attacked for two nights with hundreds of drones that knocked out power stations and water pumping stations. As we later learned, all of the southern coast of Crimea from Sevastopol all the way to Kerch was attacked, knocking out power for one week.
Power and the internet are intermittent. Sometimes for 2-3 hours and at other times as many as 8, but it is unpredictable making it hard to plan.
Yet, for the past week, people have been helping each other and going about life quite normally. For example, we attended a performance by the Trinity Playback Theater here in Yalta on July 19, and a Master Class on July 27, given by Linga, Oxi, and Katrin of the Trinity Theater Company.
