In 2018 and 2019, I travelled to Russia with Sharon Tennison’s CCI citizen diplomacy delegations. Along with Sharon and Volodya Shestakov, I travelled to many Russian towns and cities and published several videos with Sharon. However, hundreds of videos and photos from these two trips have never been published.
To fulfill my primary reason and mission, that of educating American and Western audiences about Russia and Russians, I have begun a series of short videos to show more of Russia and life in other parts of Russia.
This short, 3:12 video was made in Rybinsk, the second largest city of the Yaroslavl Oblast in Russia. It lies at the confluence of the Volga and Sheksna rivers, approximately 166 miles north-east of Moscow. The population, according to the 2010 census, was 200, 771.
Rybinsk is one of the oldest Slavic settlements on the Volga River. In the 18th Century, Catherine the Great granted Rybinsk municipal rights. It was a thriving place where cargo was loaded from large vessels to smaller boats capable of navigating the shallow canal system that connected the Russian hinterland with the Baltic Sea.
With a population of only 7,000, the town daily accommodated up to 17,000 sailors and 2,000 river vessels and became known as the “capital of the barge haulers.”
Our reason for coming to this town was to visit a modern, manufacturing facility founded by Anatoly Chistyakov, whom Sharon had met previously. A young engineer with a vision, Anatoly found a way to take a very small engineering company into a modern manufacturing establishment creating jobs and adding to the local economy.
FOBOS was founded on October 21, 1992 in Rybinsk, and specializes in the production of modern types of pipeline fittings.
Ball valves with a diameter from 6 to 300 mm with manual, pneumatic, electric drive form the main part of the production program . They are widely used as shut-off devices in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food and other industries, as well as in the extraction and transportation of gas, in the thermal power industry and housing and communal services.
The company is a permanent supplier of Russian-made fittings for the largest oil and machine-building companies in Russia.
JSC “AC “FOBOS” was originally formed as an engineering firm, numbering 5 people, but today employs over 100 people who are highly skilled, earn excellent wages, and enjoy paid vacation and sick leave.
Russians are so much like us Americans. Russia is an ancient culture that we can learn so much from. The Russian people are hard-working, intelligent, and only want to live in peace and provide for their families. Just like us.
Russia is not our enemy, but Russia has been coveted for centuries by the western, monied class for it vast natural resources and fertile lands. This is the reason why today the USA and its vassals in the EU have waged a war against Russia. This is a war being escalated daily by the globalists that has all of us, all life on the planet, on the very brink of extinction.
