Ten Myths About Russia

What Americans Tend to Believe

As you all know, because I’ve been “interfered with” on my almost daily shows on social media, I have refocused on my original mission for coming to Russia: to show Americans and others, through the lenses of my cameras, what Russia and Russians are really like.

On three previous trips to Russia, two with Sharon, and after 4.5 years living here, I have made thousands of videos and photographs that have never been seen. I will begin sharing these with you in short videos on various topics.

In this video, I present Sharon Tennison, a most amazing and courageous woman. I travelled to several regions of Russia with Sharon in 2018 and 2019 to document two citizen diplomacy delegations to Russia.

Sharon Tennison, the founder and creator of The Center for Citizen Initiatives, has been coming to Russia since 1983. In nearly 40 years, she has been a pioneer in citizen diplomacy, Rotary in Russia, and “seeding” Alcoholics Anonymous across Russia. During these years, she brought 3,000 Russian entrepreneurs to the USA where they lived and learned from American businesses, business people, entrepreneurs, medical clinics, hospitals, and Rotarians.

To do this, Sharon travelled from one end of Russia to another; from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok; from Komi to Crimea, and in the process made hundreds of Russian friends who then helped her with her efforts at Citizen Diplomacy. So, when Sharon began bringing American delegations to Russia, she was able to house and connect these citizen diplomats in every region of Russia, across 11 time zones.

Sharon has learned a great deal bout Russia, and in this video she presents 10 Myths Americans Believe About Russia.
