Re Technocracy. I see China as being ruled by engineers and scientists. This is seen as an improvement over a society run by lawyers, as in the USA. So everything these days is a technological marvel. But I know Chinese who worry about this. It's so efficient that the very efficiency removes human agency, human freedom, what makes us human.
