Even with younger people, I meet frequent resistance to actual reality, they're often anxious and confused and just don't want to talk about it.
So, yes, we still must speak our truth, but in my opinion, it will take some sort of deep shock to people personally before they are willing to consider the truth. This is similar to the German people's responses post WWII. "We just didn't know".--Because they don't want to know.
